From LACE Belts to LÆCE

After finishing my bachelor’s degree in 2024, I stepped straight into another internship. On paper, everything made sense. The logical next step would have been a master’s degree or a corporate job.

But once the internship ended, I found myself asking a different question: what if I gave LÆCE a real chance?

By then, the demand was clearly there. Orders were coming in consistently. B2B requests were increasing. Pop-ups were filling up my calendar. My tiny office was stacked with fabrics, packaging, and finished pieces waiting to be shipped.

Somewhere between production days and late-night admin, I slowly realized that this was no longer just a side project. It wasn’t a hobby I worked on between lectures anymore. It had grown into something real. Something people believed in.

So instead of choosing the safe route, I chose one year. One year fully dedicated to building the brand.

At that time, the brand was still called LACE Belts — which made sense in the beginning, because everything started with one belt. But as the collection expanded into jewelry, velvet clutches, and jackets, the name started to feel too limiting. The vision had grown beyond belts.

The rebrand wasn’t just aesthetic. It reflected a shift in identity.

LACE Belts became LÆCE.

The “Æ” is personal. It connects to my own name, Laetitia, and represents the moment I stepped fully into the brand — not just as a founder behind the scenes, but as the face, voice, and driving force behind it. It marks the transition from product-first to purpose-driven.

LÆCE felt stronger. Clearer. More aligned with what the brand had become: statement accessories designed to elevate everyday style and stay in your wardrobe beyond a single season.

What started with one belt evolved into something much more intentional.

And choosing to commit to it fully was the moment it truly became LÆCE.
